ATLANTA---Willem Kaiser of Athens, Ga. has announced he will join the SCAD Atlanta Men's Cycling team in Fall 2017. Being a strong climber and accustomed to getting himself into breakaways, Kaiser has earned some impressive results during his years of racing. Some of his top cycling achievements include 3rd place in the Junior 17-18 National Championship Road Race, 3rd place amateur at Redlands in 2016, and 3rd place in the D1 Collegiate National Championship Road Race in 2016 while a student at the University of Georgia.
"I'm really excited to find a balance between full time bike racing and pursuing a degree, especially a degree that I'm passionate about. I'd also like to develop into a more well rounded racer while I'm here and plan on doing whatever it takes to get our team on the podium," said Kaiser. "Obviously he is an incredibly talented and hard working road racer but Willem is also no stranger to track and cyclocross, so having him join us at SCAD Atlanta is really great for our team, overall. He is also quite the artist so our school is a natural fit for him and we are definitely excited," said Head Coach
Namrita Kumar of Kaiser's signing. Willem plans to pursue his B.F.A. in Painting while at SCAD Atlanta.
