ATLANTA Ga. - SCAD Atlanta's Cycling team has officially concluded their second season after competing in four USA Cycling Collegiate National Championships during the 2017-18 academic year. The team competed in track, mountain bike, and cyclocross during Fall quarter and road during Winter and Spring quarters and traveled to Indianapolis, IN, Missoula MT, Reno NV, and Grand Junction CO for the championship events. Despite being a new team of just 13 riders, SCAD Atlanta ranked 5th in the USA Cycling Division I Varsity National standings, tied in points with Milligan College also from the Southeastern Collegiate Cycling Conference.
"We have just started building our program and it will take time to develop a depth of riders competing in multiple disciplines of cycling at this high level. With a relatively small squad, our team did an amazing job holding its own among these powerhouse DI Varsity teams. I am very optimistic about our future as we develop our current riders and continue to add more talented, hard working student athletes over the upcoming years," said Head Coach
Namrita Kumar.
SCAD Atlanta Cycling wishes the students and their families a safe and happy summer break.
