Smyrna, Tenn. -- This past weekend the Bees competed in the Intercollegiate Singles and Team Championship Sectionals in Smyrna, TN.
During the Singles portion of the weekend, the ladies had five bowlers competing and the men had ten vying for their chance for a national championship berth. The format consisted of six game and each field would advance roughly the top three percent of its bowlers, the top five in each division.
Notable finishes on the women's side included:
Taylor Edgerton (Metter, Ga. / Photography) led the way for the women by finishing in 31st, averaging just shy of 195.
Arianna Echevarria (Columbus, Ga. / Interior Design) 94th place, 174.3 average
On the men's side, several bowlers turned in strong performances, including:
Christian Knowles (Snellville, Ga. / Advertising) 38th place, 210.7 average
Danil Pervukhin (Kyiv, Ukraine / Film and Television) 45th place, 207.8 average
Andrew Kearney (Austin, Texas / Advertising) 46th place, 207.7 average
Matthew Magro (Birkirkara, Malta / Advertising) 68th place, 199.7 average
Joshua Wilson (Sanford, Fla. / Advertising) 74th place, 198.7 average
For the team portion of the weekend, the men competed among a field of 18 of the top 80 teams in the country. The tournament consisted of 64 Baker formatted games split into four 16 game blocks. The top four teams advanced to nationals.
Games 1-16: 3348 pinfall, 209.25 average, 1st place
Games 17-32: 3403 pinfall, 6751 running total, 210.97, 2nd place
Games 33-48: 2832 pinfall, 9583 running total, 199.7 average, 8th place
Games 49-64 (Final): 3102 pinfall, 12733 running total, 198.95 average, 8th place
The ISC and ITC Sectionals concluded the season for the Bees. Announcements including signings and the 2024-2025 schedule will be announced in the coming months.
