Rachita Vasandani joined SCAD in September 2024 as the Assistant Golf Coach for both the men's and women's programs. Coach Vasandani was no stranger to SCAD, having spent four years as a standout player on the team.
In Conference play, Vasandani helped lead the team to regular season conference championships in the Appalachian Athletic Conference in 2017 and 2019. She was also a part of the team that won the AAC direct qualifier in 2018 and 2019, going to nationals every season as a player.
Vasandani earned individual honors also. During her time as a player, she set school tournament records for both 18 and 36 hole rounds. She was AAC Player of the Year in both 2018 and 2019, and was the Direct Qualifier medalist both those years. Her stellar play culiminated in All-American honors her third year, with her senior season ending premature due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Graduating from SCAD in 2020 with a degree in Writing, Coach Vasandani pursed a Masters degree in Technology Management and Leadership at Agnes Scott College, which she obtained in 2023.
