Bill Johnson

Bill Johnson was hired in January 2019 as SCAD Atlanta’s Assistant Men’s and Women’s Bowling Coach.

Coach is a USBC Silver Certified bowling coach and comes to SCAD with over 16 years of coaching experience. Prior to joining the Bees, Bill served as a coach for the Georgia Interstate Bowling All Star Team, where he recruited and coached the best youth bowlers throughout the state of Georgia to compete in Baker style tournaments. Coach Johnson's teams won several championships against the North Carolina and South Carolina all star teams, earning him 2014 Georgia All Star Coach of the Year honors.

Johnson led a team to the first USA Bowling National Baker Championship in 2016, a place they earned by winning the South Region. He was also voted the Greater Atlanta USBC Coach of the year in 2016. Coach Johnson accompanies approximately 20 of his qualifying students each year to the National Junior Gold Championships. One of his top students had a ninth place finish in the 2018 event that consisted of 855 competitors.

With 14 years of PBA experience, Johnson still participates in PBA50 Regional events, and is also certified as a ball driller.

Bill holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from New York University, Polytechnic Institute.
