ATLANTA – The SCAD Atlanta women’s tennis team continued its strong start to the 2013 season with an impressive sweep of Columbia College.

SCAD Atlanta came out of the gates quickly as they dominated the doubles matches. The top doubles duo of Alina Tseplukhova and Amanda Marrow quickly defeated Columbia’s Rachel Loucas and Mara Reiss 8-1. The second doubles team of Lee-Anne Lingo and Paula Peters took down the Columbia duo of Danielle Cupid and Ashley Latham 8-1. SCAD Atlanta’s Elisa Freitas and Carolyn Kernodle teamed up to complete the doubles sweep by defeating Columbia’s Erin Green and Sierra Whaley 8-2.

All six ladies notched victories in their respective singles matches.

"It was tough to turn around and play on such short turnover after getting home late from the Reinhardt match the night before," noted head coach, Glen Hill. "The women responded beautifully and put in an even stronger performance than they had the day before."

The Bees return to the courts on Friday, March 1st at 12 p.m. as they host Bethel College (Tenn.) at the Bitsy Grant Tennis Center (2125 Northside Dr., Atlanta, Ga. 30318).
