Winston-Salem, NC -- The SCAD Atlanta Men's and Women's Track and Field teams competed at the Appalachian Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships this past weekend. Athletes competed in hopes of receiving an AAC All-Conference Honors, and snagging an NAIA qualifying mark. The Bees performed oustanding and returned home with 6 AAC All-Conference Honors.
The Men's 4 x 800 Meter relay, consisting of Booker LaHue, William Karim, Ryan Holmes, Trent Wells, broke the meet record with a time of 7:58.72. First Year Jada Parrott had a standout race and did not let her age dictate her performance; she advanced to the 60 Meter Hurdle Finals, competed hard, and took 2nd place, falling only to Montreat's Emma Barnes. The women's team finished in 5th place, the highest team finish SCAD Atlanta has received for Indoor Track and Field. Senior Ashlyn Vanlandingham took to the AAC stage with outcomes in mind, placing 2nd in the 1,000 Meters and securing a spot to race at the NAIA Indoor Track and Field Championships.
