Newnan, Ga. -- The SCAD Atlanta Men's Golf team had a great start to the week, playing at the Spring Skyhawk Invitational. Hosted by Point University at the Newnan Country Club, the tournament was a bit smaller, but provided competition the Bees were no stranger to. The great weather allowed the team to thrive, with SCAD taking the top-3 individual spots.
Juan Dubra won overall, making this his second win at the Newnan Country Club. First-year Nicolas Insua putted into having the best tournament as a freshman at SCAD.
Brian Berta tied his low score of the season with 69 on round 3. SCAD was in second place, with 13 shots off the lead team. Going into the third round, the Bees overcame Point University, to win by 6 strokes. Point is ranked at 23rd; SCAD went into the tournament ranked 45th.
