Montreat, NC -- The SCAD Atlanta Track and Field teams took to the mountains of Montreat College to compete at the Appalachian Athletic Conference Track and Field Championships. Athletes performed with the intention of placing at an All-Conference finish and with the hope of landing an NAIA qualifying mark. Historically, the AAC always brings their best efforts to the Conference Championships, making each event a competition to remember. 

SCAD Atlanta took advantage of the high level of competition, even despite heavy rain on the third day of the Championships. The Women's 4 x 800 Meter Relay team finished out day two with an exemplary race, racing to second place behind Milligan's relay team. Senior William Karim opened day three, taking third in the 3000 Meter Steeplechase. Following, Gray Pershing used their wit and resilience in almost a completely on their own 3000 Meter Steeplchase; Pershing finished with a second place finish. First-year Jada Parrott has earned her keep in the Conference, racing agressive and taking second in the 100 Meter Hurdles, behind the decorated senior from Montreat, Emma Barnes. Junior Avery Raymond embraced tough rains in the 5000 Meters, keeping Montreat's Heather Murphy in her sight, finishing with a time of 17:36 and in second place.
