Bowling Wraps First Half Of Season In Savannah

Savannah, Ga. – The SCAD Atlanta bowling teams concluded the first half of their season at the SCAD Collegiate Shootout. The tournament featured a format of 5 Team Games and 12 Baker Games, testing the teams' consistency and adaptability across challenging conditions. Additionally, the top four teams in both the men's and women's divisions qualified for bracket matchplay, with matches conducted in a best-of-five format.

MEN'S TEAM SCORE

  • Achieved a total pinfall of 6,748, finishing 3rd overall and advancing to matchplay as the #3 seed.

MEN'S BRACKET MATCHPLAY RESULTS

  • The SCAD Atlanta men entered as the #3 seed and faced #2 SCAD Savannah in the semifinals. Despite a valiant effort, they were defeated 3-0.

  • Andrew Kearney (Austin, Texas / Advertising): Averaged 202.8 across 5 games, finishing in the top 20 -- 15th place
  • Kieryn Knox (West Orange, N.J. / Advertising): Averaged 194.8 across 5 games, finishing in the top 20 -- 19th place
  • Bradley Emerson (Lebanon, Tenn. / Animation): Averaged 213.3 across 3 games
  • Memphis Ling (Hempstead, N.Y. / Game Design): Averaged 185.0 across 3 games
  • Matthew Magro (Birkirkara, Malta / Advertising): Averaged 180.7 across 3 games
  • Joshua Wilson (Sanford, Fla. / Photography): Averaged 170.0 in 1 game
  • Christian Knowles (Snellville, Ga. / Advertising): Averaged 164.8 across 4 games

WOMEN'S TEAM SCORE

  • Delivered a total pinfall of 6,233, finishing 2nd overall and advancing to matchplay as the #2 seed.
WOMEN'S BRACKET MATCHPLAY RESULTS
  • The SCAD Atlanta women entered as the #2 seed and swept #3 Webber International 3-0 in the semifinals. In a thrilling final match against #1 SCAD Savannah, they pushed the competition to five games but ultimately fell short, losing 3-2.

WOMEN'S INDIVIDUAL SCORES

  • Arianna Echevarria (Columbus, Ga. / Interior Design): Averaged 181.0 across 4 games, finishing in the top 20 (17th place)
  • Sofia Ramirez-Granick (Suwanee, Ga. / Sculpture): Averaged 171.6 across 5 games
  • Amy Sanchez (Guatemala City, Guatemala / Creative Business Leadership): Averaged 170.0 across 5 games
  • Mara Geiwitz (LaCrosse, Wis. / Photography): Averaged 168.4 across 5 games
  • Maria Hernandez (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic / Industrial Design): Averaged 163.3 across 3 games

COACH'S THOUGHTS
Reflecting on the tournament, Coach Michael McNeely shared his thoughts, saying, "I'm incredibly proud of the strong start both teams have made this season. The momentum we've built will be crucial as we look ahead to the second half of the year. Continued growth, both individually and as a team, will be key to our success when the post-season arrives. I'm excited to see what this group can accomplish moving forward."

WHAT'S NEXT? The men's team will head to Las Vegas, Nev., from Dec. 17-21 to compete in the Glen Carlson Las Vegas Invitational and the Las Vegas Collegiate Shootout, aiming to build on their momentum.
