SCAD Dispatches North Texas in South Conference Playoffs

3/8/2026 11:59:00 AM

ATLANTA, Ga. -- The No. 2 SCAD League of Legends crew continued its run through the CLOL South Conference Playoffs with a decisive 3-0 victory over No. 7 University of North Texas. The Bees displayed patience early in the series before ramping up the pace in Games 2 and 3 to secure another series win in the winner's bracket.

Game 1 - Measured Start, Mid-game Scaling (Win, 24:07)
Yorick / Dr. Mundo / Orianna / Ezreal / Karma
KDA: 12 / 6 / 21

SCAD opened the series with a controlled approach, drafting a durable composition focused on stability and scaling. The team played cautiously in the early stages, responding to North Texas' movements while gathering information and setting the pace for the rest of the match. With some aggressive plays called by Shern Tai (Shernfire), SCAD steadily extended the lead and closed out the opener in just over 24 minutes.

Game 2 - Cross-Map Discipline (Win, 23:18)
K'Sante / Naafiri / Hwei / Kalista / Rakan
KDA: 24 / 9 / 39

Game 2 featured heavy attention toward top lane, as Jon Street (Aizo) on K'Sante absorbed multiple four-man collapses from North Texas. Rather than overreact, SCAD punished the pressure by consistently trading towers and objectives on the opposite side of the map. Even in the face of repeated dives, Aizo frequently secured a return kill, allowing SCAD to maintain tempo and convert their cross-map advantages into a convincing win.

Game 3 – Closing with Pressure (Win, 15:55)
Volibear / Jayce / Viktor / Caitlyn / Morgana
KDA: 21 / 8 / 21

SCAD closed the series with confidence, drafting a high-pressure poke composition designed to accelerate the pace of the game. Strong lane priority and constant ranged pressure quickly forced North Texas onto the defensive. With early kills in each lane, successful skirmishes, and complete zoning of minion XP, SCAD ended the match in under 16 minutes.
