Norman, Okla. – The SCAD Atlanta men's golf team has earned the distinction of NAIA Academic National Champions announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America.

"This is an award that we talk about at the beginning of every year. To finally win it is quite rewarding," stated Coach Graff. "I know how much time and effort the SCAD Atlanta men put into their class work. This acknowledgment is a validation of their efforts."

Sponsored by Farmers Insurance, the award is presented annually to universities in six divisions (Division I, Division II, Division III, NAIA, NJCAA DI, and NJCAA DII). Dodge City is the first non-Division I program to post the highest overall team GPA. DePaul claimed the Division I title for the fourth time while Carnegie Mellon earned its second honor in the top spot in Division III. It was the first Team Academic title for Ferris State, SCAD Atlanta and Walters State.

Alabama State, Arizona, Brown, Duke, Embry Riddle - Arizona, Kennesaw State, Mercer, Missouri, Missouri State, Redlands, SCAD Atlanta, Tiffin, Utah State, Valparaiso, Washington & Lee and Webster also received President's Special Recognition status for having team GPAs of 3.5 or better. The 20 teams to earn this distinction matches the high also met last season.

To be eligible for GCAA All-Academic Team honors a college or university must submit the GPAs for each player on its official squad list for the academic year.
